UN Volunteers platform is offering a volunteer opportunity, with MINUSCA COD in Central African Republic as an Associate Risk Management and Compliance Officer.
Assignment is renewable on an annual basis (1 July - 30 June) up to a maximum of 4 years. There is no expectation of automatic renewal. Contract renewals are granted based on Mission mandate, availability of budget, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. Duty station can change in the course of an assignment based on operational necessity; UN Volunteers may be required to work and travel anywhere in the area of operations of the host organization, including in remote locations.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
10 months (with possibility of extension).
Duties & responsibilities
The UN Volunteer Associate Risk Management and Compliance Officer will report directly to the Risk Management and Compliance Officer in the Chief of Staff pillar and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Produce meeting minutes of the meetings with clients; analyze and evaluate the observations based on compliance, operations, risk model and performance; contribute to risk management strategy and manage projects in financial compliance; facilitate internal and external audits, assist in monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Indicators in the Delegation of Authority;
- Administrative assistance: manage office logistics, mail, supplies, administration and petty cash; maintain the filing system (electronic and hard copy) and manage the agenda of the supervisor and the team; schedule travel arrangements for senior executives as well as clients, when applicable; read and route incoming mail and process outgoing mail;
- Note keeping and assisting in risk assessments in the establishment of the risk register support in the development and follow-up of risk treatment plans.
Eligibility criteria
- Age: 27 - 80
- Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.
- Required experience: 3 years of experience in Minimum 3 years of professional experience in compliance or risk management, claims management, monitoring and evaluation, and/or administration support is required.
- Area(s) of expertise: Crisis and emergency response, Business management, Administration
- Driving license: Ability to drive manual-gear 4x4 vehicle over rough terrain. Required
- Languages: French, Level: Working knowledge, Required English, Level: Working knowledge, Required
- Required education level: Bachelor degree or equivalent in At minimum a Bachelor's degree (but Master’s preferred) in Political Science, International Relations, Foreign Affairs, Law, Security, Public Management, Administration or related field. A first-level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience in related areas may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
