UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteering opportunity with UNDP RBAS Regional Youth Project in State of Palestine in Drafting blogs on the challenges and aspirations of youth across the Arab States
UNDP RBAS will launch by the end of January 2024 a youth platform. The NextGenYouth Platform is a one-stop-shop for the next generation of entrepreneurs, community builders, policy shapers and future-ready job seekers in the Arab region. The platform aims to serve as a meeting place, knowledge bank and a hub connecting a network of more than 30,000 youth and partners across the region.
An initiative of the Youth Empowerment, Engagement and Knowledge Project, SHABABEEK, at UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, the platform aims to support young people to unleash their creativity for more sustainable development. The platform includes sections on its mission, vision and the regional initiatives UNDP SHABABEEK has put in place. To ensure the accessibility of these sections to a broader audience within the region, we are actively seeking the assistance of Online Volunteers who can assist in translating and proofreading certain documents from English to Arabic and French.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
1-5 hours per week for overall 2 weeks.
Duties & responsibilities
We are seeking 50 Online Volunteers to support us with drafting blogs on the challenges and aspirations they face as young citizens. Each volunteer will be assigned to one Arabic country and asked to:
- Draft a blog (1-2 pages) about challenges that he/she faces in his/her own country (on any topic of interest: climate change, challenges of opening a business, success story, etc.)
- The blog should be personal, to tell the stories of youth, the every day struggles, challenges, successes...
- The blog can be either in Arabic, English or French
- The blog should cover an Arab country
Online Volunteers will receive guidance on the target audience as well as other guidance as needed.
Eligibility criteria
- Required experience: Exceptional writing proficiency in Arabic, English, or French. - Youthful background from the Arab States. - Capable of gathering and accurately reflecting information on the challenges and aspirations of young people.
- Languages: Arabic, Level: Mother tongue, Required French, Level: Fluent, Desirable English, Level: Fluent, Desirable
