Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program is offering a volunteer opportunity as a Data Management Assistant in Iraq.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Check the quality of collected data and point out inconsistencies or missing data to the data collection advisor.
- Filter and organize data in preparation for analysis.
- Calculation of data log frame indicators.
- Efficient sourcing of data inputs from the Procurement Team, Field Monitoring Reports, Livelihoods Team, Municipal Stabilization Advisors, and District Coordinators.
- Assist in the regular collection of results for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with the participation of relevant staff.
- Check the quality of field reports for accuracy and follow up with field engineers for project details including technical/engineering details related to issues or delays.
- Extracting data and information from the dashboard for the purpose of presenting it to the Program Manager and senior management in the United Nations Development Program.
- Any other related tasks that your supervisor may request or assign.
Eligibility criteria
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
- One year of experience at the national and/or international level in any of the other relevant programs.
- Reporting skills.
- Knowledge of conducting analyzes at the United Nations or other international development organizations.
- Ability to successfully handle large workloads.
- Accuracy and professionalism in preparing and editing documents.
- Knowledge of oral and written skills in English.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.
- Proficiency in various MS Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet.
- Familiarity with database management.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English.
- Proficiency in the Arabic language.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of political science, international relations, sociology, public administration, and economics.
- The ability to learn continuously.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Teamwork skills.
- Communication skills.
- Flexibility at work.
- You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodation and other living necessities.
- National UN Volunteers receive a Voluntary Living Allowance to maintain a basic, adequate, and good lifestyle. This allowance varies from site to site depending on the local cost of living, but all national UN Volunteers on the same site receive the same allowance.
- All National UN Volunteers are entitled to a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance of US$800, which is intended to cover the basic living costs of National UN Volunteers and their families when needed.
