UNV offers a volunteer opportunity as an Events Management Associate in the UAE.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Support the Partnerships Team with various creative tasks such as developing presentations, designing posters/invites, writing thank you letters, planning partner pitches, etc.
- Provide communications support with direction from the Partnerships and Communications teams.
- Provide general admin support to the Partnerships team as and when required.
- Support UNICEF events, including attending key flagship events during Ramadan and other campaign periods.
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- You must be between 18 and 26 years old.
- You must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
- One year of experience in management, events, research, or any other related program; Communications experiences, such as experience working for the United Nations or other international development organizations.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as excellent drafting and reporting skills.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- High interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; The ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders, including community members in religious and youth organizations, and various authorities.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.
- Computer skills, including the ability to work on various MS Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; Familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
- Sound security awareness.
- Relationship or interest in relationship management, volunteer work as a permanent development mechanism, and the United Nations system.
- Management or communications experience.
- Fluency in the Arabic language.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in media, communications, business administration, and/or any related field.
