Opportunity description
The United Nations Volunteers Program offers a volunteer opportunity as a Microsoft SharePoint Solution Administrator in Germany. You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise file management solutions, based on SharePoint Online, and will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and create efficient and scalable solutions using the Microsoft 365 cloud platform. You will also contribute to effective organization and sharing of information, improving collaboration and productivity across the organization.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Configure and customize SharePoint Online features, including but not limited to lists, libraries, workflows, forms, and various Web Parts.
- Troubleshooting and providing the necessary support.
- Identify and resolve technical issues with SharePoint Online solutions, including correcting errors, remediation, and improving performance.
- Design and implement effective knowledge management strategies and leverage Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Viva Engage (Yammer), and SharePoint Online capabilities to organize, categorize, and share information across the organization.
- Develop and maintain various documents.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment guides, user guides, and management resources.
- Provide the necessary training, guidance, and direction.
- Conduct training courses and provide guidance to end users on using SharePoint Online effectively to manage knowledge and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to integrate SharePoint Online with other systems and applications.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with various data privacy regulations, and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of SharePoint Online solutions.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- You must be between 27 and 80 years old.
- You must be a national of any country other than the country of appointment.
- 5 years experience working on Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online.
- In-depth knowledge of SharePoint Online features, configuration options, and development tools, including SharePoint Designer and
- Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate).
- Familiarity with SharePoint Online administration and governance.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.
- Preferably have Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and/or Power Platform.
- Experience in the field of information and communication technology.
- Fluency in English.
- It is preferred that you have a working knowledge of the German language.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or any equivalent experience).
