Opportunity description

The United Nations Volunteers program offers a volunteer opportunity in the field of data entry and administrative support in Palestine.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Collect and process data sets received in various formats from a variety of sources.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, graphs, and other outputs to prepare reports and display various data.
  • Updating and maintaining relevant computer databases.
  • Collect data, testimonials and success stories from end beneficiaries.
  • Respond to inquiries/requests, and maintain/update web pages.
  • Enter SAWSYA projects data into the monitoring and evaluation system.
  • Maintain regular contact with project contact points.
  • Providing the necessary administrative support.
  • Supporting engagement processes with partner civil society organizations.
  • Support the team with paper and electronic archiving.
  • Support the team in preparing for workshops, meetings and field visits.
  • Participate in the report review process.

Eligibility criteria

You must:

  • Be between 18 and 26 years old.
  • Be a citizen or legal resident of the country of appointment.
  • Two years of experience in data collection and processing, especially related to humanitarian data.
  • Experience writing reports to disseminate key data and findings to non-specialist audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent drafting and reporting skills.
  • Good general computer knowledge, including proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.), email, and the Internet.
  • Familiarity with database administration; and office technology equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in management, business administration, legal affairs.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of economics, statistics, business administration, public administration, social policy, science and international relations.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Creativity skills.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Professionalism at work.
  • You will be responsible for arranging your own accommodation and other living essentials.
  • This opportunity will extend for a period of 12 months with the possibility of a subsequent extension if the necessary funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance are available.
  • A Voluntary Living Allowance (VLA) of NIS 4,819.66 per month will be provided to cover housing, utilities and regular living costs, as well as life, health and disability insurance (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as an exit allowance for sick service.
