Opportunity description

The United Nations Volunteers Program offers a volunteer opportunity in digital engagement and community listening for social and behavioral change in Romania. UNICEF Romania continues to be active in responding to the humanitarian refugee crisis in Ukraine by continuing to promote safe and healthy behaviors, providing timely and appropriate life-saving information, and gathering the needs and concerns of Ukrainians through its various digital channels. You will be responsible for fully collecting feedback and ensuring that the office is able to promote information in both Ukrainian and Russian languages quickly. With this mission, UNICEF Romania aims to reach out to the Ukrainian community in Romania, get their opinions, comments, and needs on topics of interest, and raise awareness on its online channels such as social media and the UNICEF Romania website.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:
  • Listen to community opinions on Telegram groups.
  • Report the results of the community listening on the platform.
  • Conducting desk research on the barriers Ukrainians face in accessing social, educational, and health services in Romania.
  • Writing interactive content for the Ukrainian community on social media.
  • Translate, and adapt communication materials.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Previous experience in community listening and digital engagement.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in editing, proofreading, or translation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with technical terminology related to child protection, health, education, and emergency response.
  • Work experience with international organizations.
  • Fluent in the Ukrainian language.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • It is preferred that you have a working knowledge of the Russian language.
