United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Palestine: Project Coordinator.
Duration:
9 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project work plans and activity schedules.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational activities, including organizing training workshops, meetings, and consultations with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely logistical support for events, including venue booking, material preparation, and participant management.
- Ensure the effective and efficient execution of project activities as per the approved plan
- Coordinate with project partners regarding the implementation of the human right portfolio, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Assist the Project Manager in tracking the implementation of project activities, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and in line with UNDP quality standards.
- Collect and compile project data for progress reports and support the preparation of quarterly and annual reports.
- Ensure documentation of lessons learned and success stories throughout the project’s implementation.
- Coordinate communication activities such as public awareness campaigns and media engagement.
- Assist in the development of communication materials, including flyers, brochures, and social media content to raise awareness about BHR and the project’s impact.
- Provide administrative support to the Project Manager, including maintaining project records, preparing meeting minutes, and handling project correspondence.
- Support financial management, including assisting in budget tracking and preparation of financial reports in collaboration with the finance focal point.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Coordinate the procurement and management of project resources.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies in consultation with the Project Manager.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 18 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 3 years experience in Project coordination or management, preferably within governance, human rights, or legal reform projects.
- Experience working with marginalized groups (women, PWDs, IDPs) is desirable
Languages:
- Arabic, Level: Mother tongue, Required
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
Required education level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
