Opportunity description
United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Palestine as a Site Engineer.
Duration:
6 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Supervision and oversight of the project design phase and carrying out the required planning.
- Managing the contractor work in the project and providing technical solutions whenever is required and in liaison with the project engineer .
- Inspect and report for the work on progress and ensure that the contractors are complying with UNDP quality and HSE standards .
- Participating in weekly progress meeting of the project and reporting the records or any new arising issues to the project engineer .
- Interim and final payments review and approval and carrying out site quantity take-off in liaison with the project engineer .
- Review and approval of the contractor technical submittals ( material , method statements , shop drawings and schedules ) in liaison with the project engineer .
- Carrying out any other tasks requested by the program manager or the project engineer .
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27- 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 3 years of experience in Supervision and oversight of the project design phase, including planning and coordination with all relevant stakeholders, as well as following up on the tender process from pre-award to post-award, participating in tender analysis, evaluation, and negotiations.
Languages:
- Arabic, Level: Mother tongue, Required
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
Required education level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
