United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in South Sudan: Reporting Analyst.
Duration:
11 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Seek and maintain a high degree of awareness and understanding of events, developments, and trends in the mission area, including through effective cooperation, coordination, and information sharing, with Mission sections and field offices.
- Develop process improvement mechanisms for data analytics and reporting tasks.
Acquire and clean data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data systems. - Implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns using basic various techniques and statistical methods to identify relevant features and variables in structured sources of information and data.
- Develop reports, dashboards, or other tools to effectively summarize findings and convey information to management.
- Perform other tasks, as requested by the CJOC, including support to crisis management and coordination of operations.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 27- 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national of a country other than the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- 3 years of experience in political science, international relations, situational awareness and reporting, information management, data analytics, or related area is required.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience working in the front office in a Situation Centre.
- Experience in data management, visualization, databases, and dashboards in a UN field mission or equivalent is desirable.
- Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Work and Power Bi) and other IT applications including self-service analytics and data visualization applications or SAGE is desirable.

Required education level:
Masterdegree or equivalent in conflict analysis, research and reporting, data analysis and crisis communication
