United Nations Volunteers programme is offering a volunteer opportunity in Turkey: Emergency Response Officer.
Duration:
6 months (with possibility of extension)
Duties & responsibilities
- Strengthen Logistics and Supply Chain and Management:
- Enhancement of capacities on humanitarian planning and preparedness
- Coordinate the country level interagency and cluster knowledge and communication flow
- Liaise with AFAD whose mandate is to encompass disaster mitigation, response coordination, training, and legislative initiatives
- Performs other duties as required.
Eligibility criteria
Age: 18 - 80
Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience:
- Experience in emergency response and supply chain or related fields is required.
- Experience working with the government authorities is required, especially with AFAD is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Sound security awareness.

- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Turkish, Level: Mother tongue, Required
Required education level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in political science, social sciences, disaster risk reduction/disaster management, crisis management, supply chain or other related areas.
