Duties & responsibilities
You will undertake the following tasks:
- Assist in the monitoring and implementation of civil works on site and report back daily to the Project Engineer.
- Assist in coordinating the work on-site and in reporting activities.
- Support in the identification of beneficiaries and new sites upon the request of the Project Engineer.
- Assist in the coordination of tasks with other partners and national counterparts.
- Supervise and follow up on daily labour tasks and security measures on-site.
- Prepare bi-weekly reports of the work progress.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary or as assigned by the Project Engineer.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering and/or any related fields in civil engineering, agriculture, irrigation, and mechanical.
- 4 years of experience in water/ irrigation or concrete works, or other relevant programs.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and familiarity with tools and approaches of communication for development.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet.
- Familiarity with database management and sound security awareness.
- Valid national driver’s license.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- Judgment and decision-making skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
Please note: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment and be aged 27 - 80.
