Opportunity description
The Olive Writers Association announces the fourth edition of the Olive Writers Camp for Creative Writing, which is being organized this year in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and the American Arts Center in Casablanca. The summer camp brings together young writers, from 16 to 25 years old, from all over the Kingdom of Morocco, to spend a week in Casablanca as part of an all-expenses-paid literary residency. This year's theme will be entitled "Writing for Freedom", as young writers will gather to ask the following question: What does it mean to be free?
Benefits
- The summer camp is an opportunity for young writers from all over Morocco to spend a week of intensive literary and artistic residency aimed at developing their writing skills in Casablanca for free, as well as an opportunity to build relationships with creative youth.
- In the camp, participants will attend daily creative writing workshops (provided in both Arabic and English) separately, attend lectures by famous writers and thinkers, develop their personal skills and learn about literary translation and the publishing industry, which means cultivating their own community and becoming a dynamic and interactive part of their project.
- This opportunity is fully funded: thanks to the financial contribution of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the Technical Center of America, tuition, hotel and board will be provided free of charge to all accepted participants.
Eligibility criteria
- Enthusiastic writers interested in developing their creative writing skills.
- Anyone between 16 to 25 years old.
- The ability to participate in all days of the entire week.
- This program targets Moroccans and international students residing in Morocco.
