Prague City of Literature

Prague City of Literature is a project to support Prague's literary life, which was created in 2009 on the initiative of the Municipal Library in Prague and Czech Centers . It now associates more than 30 partners. The main goal of the project is to support the perception of Prague among residents and visitors as a place that inspires one's own creativity and encourages reading and interest in literature and books in general. One of the milestones of the project is the acquisition of the prestigious title "Creative UNESCO City of Literature" in 2014. It is a project supported by a resolution of the Prague City Council, which appointed the Municipal Library in Prague as the coordinator of the project. In December 2014, Prague gained membership in the prestigious UNESCO network of creative cities of literature.
