Opportunity description

The Dubai 2020 Expo is looking for a motivated Associate to work in the Human Resources, Workforce and Volunteers department (HRD) in the UAE, which is responsible for delivering an exceptional workforce who will deliver an exceptional Expo. The department includes the following functional areas: Human Resources Operations (HRO), Workforce (WKF), Volunteers (VOL), Internal Communications, Training & Engagement (IET), Emiratization & Expo Academy (EMI). Emiratization & Expo Academy (EMI) – The role of the Emiratization & Expo Academy function is to ensure knowledge transfer post and during event time, and capturing legacy for all Emiratis to support their outplacement post event time. Also, monitoring the Emiratization percentage within the total workforce, advocating reaching 50% Emiratis by event time. The role of the Expo Academy team is to retain and train 300 young Emiratis as graduate them as deputy managers able to run complete shifts during event time across the different functions of the event delivery.

Responsibilities:

The role of the Associate - Emiratization is to support the Human Resources, Workforce and Volunteers departments and divisions within Expo2020 with key Emiratization projects & initiatives, acting as a project administrator to acquire knowledge, skills, and capabilities for work readiness, and contribute to the goals and vision of Expo 2020.

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  1. Administrate the Expo 2020’s Emiratization Strategy and ensure compliance with the Expo 2020 policies and procedures.
  2. Collate Emiratis applications, manage replies and correspondences as per the Expo 2020 ‘s procedures.
  3. Manager recruitment database and maintain updates for each applicant and segregate accordingly.
  4. Be first line recruiter to vet and advice on candidates’ suitability., Ensure that all programs are running well under Emiratization and maintain a potential pool of future hires and placements.
  5. Maintain relationships with government organizations/universities/partners for sourcing & selecting Emiratize.
  6. Maintain files Emiratis records and history using a well-organized filing system to ensure files are up-to-date and compile with legislative requirements.
  7. Coordinate interviews and prepare all necessary paperwork for recruitment kit and appointment. 
  8. Provide administrative support to the team, following up on activities and communicating as appropriate.

Required Skills:

  1. 2 + years’ professional related experience.
  2. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  3. Good written and verbal communication skills.

  5. Demonstrated ability to cope with changing environments.
  6. Planning and Organizational Skills.

  8. Ability to interface with various stakeholders at different levels (Multitasking).
