Job Opportunity at Orange in Egypt: Application Support and Cloud Operations Engineer

Orange is looking for a Senior Application Support and Cloud Operations Engineer to join the team and work in Cairo, Egypt. 

Technical responsibilities:

1. Ensure applications’ availability to meet the SLA target.
2. Handle, diagnose and route in real-time incoming trouble tickets.
3. Responsible for 2nd level technical support and escalation.
4. Develop monitoring scripts to monitor applications, system performances and data availability.
5. Communicate planned/unplanned outages to end users.
6. Provide administration services on applications.
7. Provide workarounds for major issues until permanent fix is delivered.
8. Participate in the UAT testing for any bugs/new application features.

Working in devops mode for all applications hosted in the cloud, this includes (but not limited to):

1. Fully understanding the functionality of applications to help them define their QoS matrixes.
2. Providing L2 support for the cloud infrastructure.
3. Providing  L2 application support to cloud-based applications.
4. in some cases; containerizing applications.

Functional responsibilities:

1. Managing and handling new issues related to the application support or to the infrastructure support.
2. Representing the team with different stakeholders within the organization.
3. Having full autonomy within the team.

Requirements:

Functional Skills:

1. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
2. Strong ability to work in a team.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Time management.
5. Autonomy to work on different issues.

Technical Skills:

1. Due to the variety of the supported applications, the proficient knowledge in two or more of the below domains is mandatory:
2. Operating system administration & scripting (Windows, Linux).
3. Database administration (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL).
4. Web Services (SOAP, REST).
5. Development using one of this list (Python ,Java, ASP.NET, node.js, C# ,PHP, react.js).
6. Big Data platforms, pervious work on Hadoop or mongo DB.
7. Mobile application development (Andriod and iOS).
8. Continuous delivery tools (Dockers, Kubernetees, Ansible ).
9. Security protocols (ethical hacking is a plus).
10. Good experience in working in agile and devops is a plus.
11. Good understanding of network protocols (CCNA is a plus).
12. ITIL foundation knowledge (certificate is a plus).

Educational background:

1. B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent.
2. Fluent in English.
3. Fluent in French is a plus.

Professional Experience:

At least 4 years of experience working within the IT field.
