Opportunity description

Studio 8 Amman is looking for a Development and Fund-raising Manager to join the team as a full time employee, starting from 1 May 2019 in Amman, Jordan.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Fund-Raising: identifying, securing and maintaining relationships with sponsors and partners and maintaining and updating donor database. This includes:
    • General:
      • Developing strategies and setting goals to hit fundraising targets.
      • Writing proposals that could attract money, including applications for grants.
      • Initiating new contacts with potential funders, donors, partners and sponsors, creating donor, funding database.
      • Undertaking research/analysis to create growth strategies and implement growth strategies, diversifying income streams.
    • Project-based:
      • Mapping and developing project channeling means, identifying opportunities to collaborate with other organizations and leverage resources.
      • Developing strategies and setting goals to hit fundraising targets.
  2. Business Development which includes:
    • Identifying target group and complete appropriate research.
    • Identifying trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related projects, activities, productions, programs, and publications.
    • Discovering and exploring opportunities.
    • Analyzing the production, structure and financial strategies, requirements, potential; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities.
    • Developing and negotiating contracts.
    • Develop marketing strategies to enhance the organization’s brand value and promote the services with Space Manager.
  3. Outreaching which includes partner management with the following tasks:
    • Manage the development of new partnerships: identifying opportunities for collaborations; engaging with potential partners to begin a relationship; and developing a protocol for the continuation of the partnership.
    • Maintaining relations with a specific entity like government, cultural institution, production partners, or interest groups representing the organization's performance and production sector.
    • Keeping responding to evolving needs of target groups.
    • Representing the organization’s development interests, communicating the organization’ strategy and image, and enhancing the organization’s visibility among internal and external strategic partners.
    • With Space Manager and Production Manager, booking tour, making tour plans,making travel arrangements, controlling budget.
  4. Reporting which includes:
    • Preparing status report, financial report with Artistic Director, Creative Manager, Space Manager.
    • Coordinating between accountant, auditor and the organization management.
    • Reviewing reports to analyze trends, finding ways to limit or reduce costs and improve productivity.
    • With Artistic Director, Accountant, Auditor, budgeting general incoming and outgoing money.
    • Helping management to make important financial decisions.
  5. Assistance, and that includes:
    • General management:
      • Participating in developing long-range strategic goals and strategies consistent with the mission and capabilities of the organization.
      • Participate in establishing monitoring and evaluation systems including indicators to reach the organization’s objectives and aims.
      • Developing tools, templates and techniques to drive our strategic implementation.
      • Facilitating cross-functional working.
    • Internal communication:
      • Helping writing and editing proposals, log frame, annual reports.
      • Providing information and database (donors, consultants, networks).
    • Human resources:
      • With guidance from Artistic Director, conduct capacity building trainings for employees, contract workers and volunteers.
      • Identifying training needs of partners and beneficiaries in the context of the program of the organization.
      • Preparing and facilitating together with project team, consultant and local partner to plan, design capacity building materials.

Requirements:

  1. Communication Skills, Research Skills, Planning and Time management Skills, Organizational Abilities.
  2. Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  3. Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  4. Minimum Work experience: 2-5 years.
