Job Opportunity in Jordan at CDM Smith: Civil – Structural Engineer/Junior

CDM Smith is offering a job opportunity for Jordanians who have a Bachelor degree in Civil / Structural Engineering to work as a Junior Civil / Structural Engineer vacancy in Amman. The right candidate should have prior experience in a similar position with a consulting firm. The selected candidate will be working on multiple tasks on the USAID Jordan Water Infrastructure project serving as an umbrella contract for USAID/Jordan’s water, wastewater, and environment sectors. The project aims to address the specific assessments, designs, tendering support, and construction management services.

Responsibilities:

1. Work within a team of multi-disciplinary professionals in designing water and wastewater projects
2. Collect and analyze data
3. Conduct structural analysis using structural analysis/design software (e.g. STAAD, RISA)
4. Assists in the development of reports, models, drawings, and specifications
5. Coordinate the development of structural models on Revit with staff in multiple locations
6. Review draft designs for compliance with international and local regulations
7. Coordinates designs with other engineering disciplines
8. Apply the firm’s policies and practices on all designs
9. Attend meetings and participate in conference calls
10. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, closely coordinating with team members, home office staff and subconsultants
11. Collect relevant information from all related authorities
12. Review previous studies and reports
13. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. B.Sc. Civil / Structural Engineer
2. A minimum of three years of Experience in structural design in local consulting firms
3. Candidate must hold Jordanian citizenship and be legally authorized to work in Jordan
4. Registration as a member of the Jordan Engineers Association
5. Strong Communication skills in English and Arabic (Speaking, reading and writing)
6. Good Knowledge of engineering structural analysis/design software (e.g. STAAD, RISA)
7. Good knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D, Revit software and practices
8. Willing to learn and become proficient with using Revit
9. Good Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.)
