CDM Smith is offering a job opportunity for Jordanians who have a Bachelor degree in Civil / Structural Engineering to work as a Junior Civil / Structural Engineer vacancy in Amman. The right candidate should have prior experience in a similar position with a consulting firm. The selected candidate will be working on multiple tasks on the USAID Jordan Water Infrastructure project serving as an umbrella contract for USAID/Jordan’s water, wastewater, and environment sectors. The project aims to address the specific assessments, designs, tendering support, and construction management services.
Responsibilities:
- Work within a team of multi-disciplinary professionals in designing water and wastewater projects
- Collect and analyze data
- Conduct structural analysis using structural analysis/design software (e.g. STAAD, RISA)
- Assists in the development of reports, models, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate the development of structural models on Revit with staff in multiple locations
- Review draft designs for compliance with international and local regulations
- Coordinates designs with other engineering disciplines
- Apply the firm’s policies and practices on all designs
- Attend meetings and participate in conference calls
- Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, closely coordinating with team members, home office staff and subconsultants
- Collect relevant information from all related authorities
- Review previous studies and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Civil / Structural Engineer
- A minimum of three years of Experience in structural design in local consulting firms
- Candidate must hold Jordanian citizenship and be legally authorized to work in Jordan
- Registration as a member of the Jordan Engineers Association
- Strong Communication skills in English and Arabic (Speaking, reading and writing)
- Good Knowledge of engineering structural analysis/design software (e.g. STAAD, RISA)
- Good knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D, Revit software and practices
- Willing to learn and become proficient with using Revit
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.)
