Samsung offers a job opportunity in the USA as a senior backend engineer. The senior backend engineer will architect, implement, and deploy backend solutions that support content technical integration for the suite of TV Plus applications.

Eligibility:

You must have:

1. 5+ years of back end development experience in a large scale production environment.
2. Architected one or more cloud solutions that went live.
3. 3+ years of either AWS or Azure.
4. Bachelors/master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
5. Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a focus on maintaining high quality and standards.
6. Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Go, Node.js, Python.
7. Ability to communicate in writing or orally complex technical matters to an audience of equal or higher level technical competency.
8. Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
9. Ability to deliver and accept feedback on code and design.
10. Strong ability to debug unfamiliar libraries and isolate problems.
11. Experience integrating 3rd party SDKs into service-based applications.
12. Knowledge of HLS, Dash, FFMPEG, React, Mongo, or HTML5 is a bonus.
13. Be highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
14. Ability to work effectively with partners in different cultures and geographies. 
15. Positive attitude, highly flexible, and self-motivated.
16. Develops professional expertise by complying with company policies and procedures.
17. Exceptional communication skills in a multi-cultural environment.
18. Flexibility to travel to meet with partners and internal customers.
19. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
20. Normally receives general instructions on routine work with detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

• Implement components, features, and optimizations for TV Plus hosting and support of linear channels and VOD. 
• CDN and SSAI configurations and deployments.
• Backend systems to support operations, including monitoring, auditing, and reports.  
• Fix issues raised by customers and customer support teams, isolate the cause and work towards a fix.
• Participate in meetings with other staff members to evaluate, plan, and troubleshoot; and to ensure the proper interface between software, systems and operational performance. 
• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Commercial grade software and end-to-end problem-solving.
