Paid Internship for Software Engineering Students at Google in the US

Google is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to be part of a unique 12-14 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development, an executive speaker series and community-building in Pittsburgh, USA. This program will give the intern an opportunity to work on complex computer science solutions, to develop scalable, distributed software systems, and also to collaborate on multitudes of smaller projects that have universal appeal - which requires research, awareness, interactivity, and the ability to ask the right questions. Depending on your background and experience, you will be working in one of the following areas:

[1] Product and Systems Development

[2] Engineering Productivity

[3] Site Reliability

Responsibilities:

[1] Apply knowledge gained in computer science courses to real-world challenges

[2] Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to effectively solve challenges

[3] Develop scripts to automate routine tasks

[4] Create and support a productive and innovative team. This includes working with peers, managers, and teams

Minimum qualifications:

[1] Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, or related technical field

[2] Experience with Data Structures or Algorithms gathered from: completing a data structures or algorithms class, coursework, course projects, research, individual projects, internships, or other practical experience inside or outside of school or work (including open source hobby coding)

[3] Experience in Software Development and coding in a general purpose programming language

[4] Examples of coding in one of the following programming languages including but not limited to: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Python

Preferred qualifications:

[1] Authorization to legally work in the United States

[2] Returning to a degree program after completion of the internship

[3] Experience programming in two or more of the languages including but not limited to: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go or Python

[4] Experience working with some of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, and/or security software development

[5] Demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed

[6] Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak and write in English

Benefits:
