Opportunity description

International Alert organization is looking for a highly motivated peacebuilding professional to lead and grow its programme in Ukraine. Also, they are looking for a candidate with strong technical peacebuilding competencies and entrepreneurial drive. You will have proven experience in strategic programme development, fundraising and be excellent at building relationships with a wide range of interlocutors at all levels.
You will be responsible for the management of the country programme, reporting to the Regional Director in London. You will oversee the implementation of high-quality peacebuilding work, building on success to diversify and enlarge the project portfolio.

Eligibility criteria:

[1] A Masters degree in a relevant subject (Social or Political Sciences, Conflict Studies, International Law, International Relations)

[2] Fluent English

[3] At least five years’ senior management experience at a relevant level (such as country manager, programme manager, or chief of party, deputy of the above or project(s) manager) in conflict-affected or fragile context, demonstrating excellent people and financial management skills.

[4] Proven success in designing and fundraising for new projects and programmes.

[5] Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a wide spectrum of actors, including political and civil society figures, government representatives, diplomatic missions, and donors.

[6] Excellent writing skills, including experience of writing policy briefings, project proposals and reports.

[7] Experience in peacebuilding, or in other relevant areas, including social cohesion, governance, political economy, gender and peacebuilding, conflict analysis, conflict sensitivity, civil society networking and strengthening.

[8] Flexible and adaptable, able to prioritise and work under pressure.
