Disney is offering an internship opportunity for students in Casting in the USA.
Duties & responsibilities
As an intern with the Casting team, you will assist with the day-to-day responsibilities of the busy network casting department:
- Become a member of a smart, fun, and collaborative team.
- Assist the department in finding up-and-coming talent.
- Learn about network casting for pilot shows and current programming.
- Help find new and creative ways to work together with an eye toward quality and efficiency.
- Assisting in reviewing the casting materials of current and future projects
- Assisting with the casting and/or production of the Disney Discovers Talent Showcase among other initiatives
- Providing support with basic uploading of auditions to Cast It, using Breakdown Services, and internal note-taking.
- Updating our actor database, session sheets, and other various internal documents.
- Supporting current Assistant and Coordinator with data entry and scheduling.
Eligibility criteria
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last eighteen (18) months at the time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program.
- Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- A demonstrated proficiency with both Mac and PC operating systems.
- Strong proficiency with Zoom.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Breakdown Express/Eco Cast, Cast It, and IMDBPro.
- Familiarity with YouTube, Vimeo, and other video-sharing sites.
- A strong interest in television, casting, and the entertainment industry.
- Previous experience in entertainment and casting.
Additional Information:
- This internship is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- The approximate dates of this internship are August/September through December/January.
- The candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
