Internship Opportunity in Partnerships and Liaison at the United Nations University in Germany

The United Nations University in Germany is offering an internship opportunity in Partnerships and Liaisons. The Partnerships and Liaison Officer is vital for developing and maintaining UNU-FLORES’ relationships with local, national, and international organizations and government authorities and ministries, in order to ensure the timely and effective approval of proposals and agreements.

Under the overall authority of the Director of UNU-FLORES and under the direct supervision of the Partnerships and Liaison Officer the intern will support in the following activities:

• participate in the Partnerships and Liaison (P&L) Officer’s activities such as attending meetings, minute taking, email and document preparations, coordination activities, and preparation of the content.
• contribute to the maintenance of the partnerships and contact database.
• contribute to the building of a knowledge hub and the guidelines for knowledge management.
• participate in the mapping and identification of potential partners and provide background research for the P&L Officer.
• contribute to drafting, reviewing, and editing research proposal applications.
• support with the editing of publications.
• assist with the preparation of strategic events.
• perform other duties as assigned by the Director or the supervisor.

Interns are also welcome to take part in seminars, brunches, workshops, conferences, and other events organized by UNU-FLORES while completing the internship.

Required qualifications and experience include:

• the candidate must be currently pursuing or has recently graduated from postgraduate studies or is in the final year of a bachelor’s degree in the field of natural, political, or social sciences, economics, international studies, communications, or related fields.
• proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• experience with developing databases would be highly advantageous.
• proficiency in oral and written English is required; proficiency in German would be highly desirable; knowledge of other official UN languages would be an asset.
