UNCDF offers an internship opportunity in the field of Database Analytics and Solutions in the USA. Under the guidance and supervision of the Dual Key Investment Manager, and in close coordination with the Dual Key Communications Lead, you will support the optimization of the process flows, database functionalities, analytics, and reporting flow within the database, the Dual Key site, the Global Database, and other corporate flows.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Support in the optimization of the design, development, and updating of the Dual Key database in Microsoft SharePoint, Functionalities and interlinkages through Power Apps, and External analytics through Power BI.
- Support in the design, development, and updating of the reporting dashboards, reports, data extracts, and other business intelligence solutions such as Power BI, Power Apps, and Flows linkages.
- Ensures system integrity through regular checks and diagnostics, and through the creation of specific processes and queries on regular basis.
- Train practice colleagues (including through manuals, guidance materials, etc.) especially on SharePoint, flows and Power BI, etc.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
Functional competencies:
- Demonstratable skills and experience in Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Power-BI.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
- Excellent computer capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage diverse and complex tasks, with tight deadlines.
- Able to take initiative and work independently, with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure within an international setting.
Education:
- You must be enrolled in a degree program in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, and Visualization or a related field.
- You must either be:
- Enrolled in the graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher).
- Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation.
Additional assignment-specific qualifications:
- Good understanding of international relations and development.
Experience:
- Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft SharePoint, Power Apps, Flows, Power Bi.
- Knowledge of web design, usability, and information architecture.
- Knowledge of search engine optimization techniques and web analytics tools.
- Competency in content management.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS, and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise.
Languages:
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of other UN languages will be considered a plus.
General Internships Terms & Conditions:
- UNCDF Internship program is governed by the UNDP Internship Policy Framework & Rules.
- The maximum internship duration is 6 months.
- Interns are partially financially remunerated by UNCDF. The costs associated with the assignment will be partially supported by UNCDF and the rest to be borne by the nominating institution, related institution, or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students; or by the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make his/her own arrangements for travel, accommodation, etc.
- It is expected that due to CoVID-19 restrictions in place, the most- immediate internship assignments will be home-based till the situation in the respective duty station improves.
