Duties & responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to convert UI/UX designs into responsive and visually appealing web pages
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility of the website
- Implement animations, transitions, and interactive elements to enhance user experience
- Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements
- Maintain and update existing WordPress websites, ensuring security and optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and debug WordPress-related issues as they arise
- Utilize your news publication background to curate and manage content on the News Deck platform
- Publish and organize news articles, images, videos, and other media assets
- Monitor content performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize engagement
- Work closely with backend developers to integrate frontend interfaces with backend systems
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure seamless UI/UX implementation
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide updates
- Optimize website performance for speed and responsiveness (GT Metrics or similar tools)
- Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine visibility (Google Search Console)
- Monitor and analyse website traffic and user behaviour to identify areas for improvement (Google Analytics 4)
Eligibility criteria
- Proven experience as a Frontend Developer with a strong portfolio of web development projects.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive design principles.
- Expertise in WordPress development, including theme and plugin customization.
- Familiarity with News Deck platforms and news content management.
- Keen interest and passion towards ever evolving news platform & related technology.
- Understanding of SEO principles and web performance optimization.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- News publication background or experience is a plus.
