Opportunity description

ABB is looking for a motivated Sales Support Engineer to join the team and work in Doha, Qatar. You will be working as Sales Support Engineer – Drives and will be part of the Motion Business Area for Service Division based in Doha, Qatar. In this role you will be reporting to the Project Engineer and will be responsible for supporting the sales organization and customers through the proposal process by preparing technical descriptions of the applied products and technology, determining costs, preparing final documentation, and serving as a key technical resource in the assigned area.

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Triggering new sales opportunities and developing healthy sales pipeline, targeting the ABB penetration on Motion products.
  2. Ensuring that the most recommended and cost-effective offerings are prepared.
  3. Working closely with the customers during budgeting and capital expenditure planning phase to differentiate offering and ensuring close contact with the sales and execution team.
  4. Identifying and expanding the market coverage where Motion has limited presence. Offering the Motion services portfolio to the assigned customers.
  5. Analyzing the competitors to sharpen ABB’s sales force and enhancing the competitive edge in the market and setting up winning strategies, margins and prices.
  6. Agreeing on the sales approach and the pricing strategies with the sales manager to well position the Motion products in the market.
  7. Matching Motion services portfolio with the customer requirements and ensuring optimum services are proposed. Defining, recording and achieving service account plans for the assigned accounts including player maps, contacts, risks and the opportunities.
  8. Leading order handling and execution to achieve connected financial KPI and following the zero-tolerance policy of ABB business ethics and guidelines.

  10. actions while caring for your colleagues and the business and following all applicable legal, customer and ABB’s health, safety and environment requirements all the time.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  2. Minimum 3-4 years of industry experience in sales support.
  3. Candidates should have experience with drives or drives service.
  4. Strong user experience in Microsoft Office tools.
  5. Experience in Business Online tool (BOL) is an added advantage.
  6. Excellent presentation skills, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
