Opportunity description

Microsoft announces a job opportunity as a Senior HR Consultant in Egypt. You will report to the Head of CEMA HR and will also have the opportunity to engage in advocacy across the diverse CEMA region as part of the company’s One Team model. You will also be part of the EMEA HR team, in the global HR enablement part of the company to enable Microsoft’s business performance and inclusive culture through human-centric data, insights, AI-powered coaching, and global solutions for managers and employees.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • HR Consulting:
    • Provide specialized consulting services to managers and employees in one or more focus areas related to HR programs, processes, and initiatives.
    • Lead data analytics and organizational health diagnostics by creating analysis plans and leading collaborations with the HR Business Process (HRBP) team.
    • Provide trends and insights on organizational health solutions.
    • Recommend action plans to business leaders based on analytics and business/local needs.
  • Capacity Building:
    • Identify appropriate approaches and leverage resources to enhance manager capacity by conducting one-to-one consultations/trainings with business leaders, or by engaging relevant stakeholders and HR partners in capacity building conversations.
    • Provide capacity building support to business, region, or geographic leadership through scalable projects, programs, and/or initiatives (e.g., Management Excellence Community, Manager Capability, Mentoring, Team Building).
    • Identify and capture training needs within the supported business, region, or geographic area.
    • Develop implementation plans to address identified training needs, and partner with peer HR teams to develop and coordinate relevant trainings as needed.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Identifies and resolves issues of increasing complexity, visibility, and risk related to policy or culture concerns/violations and responds to incidents or threats.
    • Recommends appropriate solutions to address issues from a systemic perspective (e.g., developing new principles/tools) while prioritizing employee experiences to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
    • Assists/collaborates with the Employee Relations Investigations Team (ERIT) or Office of Legal Compliance (OLC) in investigating high-risk cases and implementing appropriate remediation.
    • Leads investigations for a company, region, or geographic area where resources are limited.
    • Interprets trends in employee relations issues.
  • HR Projects and Programs:
    • Collaborates with Centers of Excellence to implement and leverage scalable HR programs and processes (e.g., Rhythm of Work (ROB)/Performance and Development Cycle, Management Excellence Communities, Employee Mobility, and ad hoc projects).
    • Manages HR operations for a company, region, or geographic area by reviewing progress and making recommendations on project/program management.
    • Design and implement local HR projects or programs (e.g., critical position retention, mid-year performance checkpoint) based on the unique needs of a company, region, or geography.
    • Provide project guidance on priorities, timelines, budget, and resources.
    • Leverage, coordinate, and integrate communications and messaging strategies from the Center of Excellence (CoE).
    • Collaborate with peer disciplines (e.g., HR Business Partnership) to gain support for programs and processes from business stakeholders.
  • Operational Compliance:
    • Interpret and advocate for Microsoft values and compliance with company, region, or geographic HR policies.
    • Identify/raise needs to mitigate potential risks through collaboration with the legal profession.
    • Collaborate with peers in other companies, regions, or geographies to share input and drive a unified/scalable approach to enhance compliance.
    • Update policies and procedures related to managed projects and programs.
    • Establish partnerships with HR policy holders and relevant stakeholders.
    • Lead efforts to update policies (e.g., benefits policies) in collaboration with HR disciplines (e.g., HR Shared Services Support).
  • Queue Management:
    • Manage, distribute and supervise incoming inquiries through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
    • Manage the queue for a company, region or geographic area.
    • Assess the severity levels of inquiries and determines appropriate management approach.
    • Respond to written correspondence, email and other outreach to employees and managers.
    • Share feedback with senior advisors to the Queue Management System (AskHR) regarding opportunities for early process resolution, escalation and operational efficiency.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Experience in HR or business programs/processes.
  • Or Bachelor’s degree and experience in HR or business programs/processes.
  • Proficiency in Arabic.

Preferred:

  • Experience in employee relations.
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)/SHRM-CP Certified Professional.
  • French language skills.
