Job Opportunity as an Engineering Manager at Google in the US 2021

Google is looking for a motivated Engineering Manager to join the Looker Core Infrastructure team and work in California, United States for 2021. Looker's Core Infrastructure team builds platforms and frameworks that enable Looker to remain performant and scalable. Google works on big projects across a wide spectrum. Some interesting work that Google is focused on currently includes: implementing a horizontal scaling architecture, improving query throughput, caching abstraction layers and scalable PDF rendering.

1. Manage up teams and work with direct reports to help build out a roadmap, staff projects, assist with career growth and foster a fun, safe work environment.
2. Be passionate about scaling and performance, with an expectation that you can help engineers deliver incremental improvements to Looker's scaling and performance.
3. Scale asynchronous systems, the JVM ecosystem and web centered technologies.

1. 3 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
2. Experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
3. Programming experience in one of the following: Java, C++, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

1. Experience leading software development teams building scalable distributed infrastructure/middlewares.
2. Comfortable and effective in cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and collaboration
3. Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and technical innovation.
