Grand Hyatt Hotel offers a job opportunity as a chef for Italian food in Jordan.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Fulfilling brand requirements and providing exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Provide excellent service to internal customers when required.
  • Dealing with complaints and inquiries of guests and internal customers in a courteous and efficient manner, and following up on them to ensure they are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Work and supervise your station/department to ensure food products are prepared to the required standards.
  • Follow standard recipes and reduce waste to help ensure food cost is within budget.
  • Train new associates of the team when necessary in preparing and presenting the various elements.
  • Fulfill customer requests and interact with them to meet and exceed their food expectations.
  • Ensure implementation of minimum company brand standards.
  • Work in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments in a team spirit.
  • Stay up-to-date with the availability of seasonal and new products in the market.
  • Handle all operating equipment and supplies with care to minimize damage and wastage.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Excellent knowledge of Italian cuisine, from product selection to service delivery.
  • The ability to work in high-end restaurants.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organization skills.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Junior Chef or Senior Chef in a 5* hotel in a similar role.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the same role in a standalone restaurant.
