Job Opportunity at ActionAid- AAAR in Jordan: Head of Programmes

ActionAid- AAAR is offering a job opportunity in Amman, Jordan as a Head of Programmes.

1. Grants Management: Overall responsible for the management of grants related to AAARs programmes.
2. Program Implementation: Overall responsible for ensuring that planning of programme activities is done in close collaboration with local partners, technical officers and other key stakeholders; 
3. Program financial management: Overall responsible for the management of the expenditure and disbursement of resources allocated to the programme department;
4. Program/strategy development & fundraising: In close collaboration with the Regional Director ensure that the AAAR Fundraising Strategy is updated and implemented.
5. Representation: Represent ActionAid in meetings with Donors, Government agencies, Clusters, ActionAid programme working group;
6. Communication & Campaigns: Overall responsible for the development and implementation of a Communication Plan, which ensure strategic visibility of AAAR;
7. Annual planning and budgeting: Ensure that AAAR develops and submits annual plans to AAI as per the requirements;
8. Staff Management: Directly supervise Programme Managers and Communication & Campaigns Coordinator;
9. Others: Ensure adherence to AAAR values, principles and Human Rights based approach;

Education & Certifications: Minimum a Bachelor degree in social science, development studies, political science; Master Degree or international studies are desirable

Essential Experience:

1. A minimum of 5 years in leading programmes in development work and poverty alleviation programmes.
2. Experience working as Head of Programme Department for similar organizations is an advantage
3. In-depth understanding of programming issues and policy work at state, national and international levels
4. Understanding of gender issues in the development context and demonstrable commitment to promoting gender equality within the organisation and in programme work
5. Experience in fundraising work with institutional/ government and corporate donors
6. Experience in leading multiple teams

Language proficiency: Proficiency in English and Arabic
