Al Tamimi & Company is offering an exceptional job opportunity as an Account to join the team in Amman, Jordan. The accountant’s role includes administrative responsibilities of ensuring the financial system is accurate and reconciled. The role reports to the Group Finance Manager in the UAE and Head of Office in Jordan. Accountant duties can vary from general accounting tasks, financial reporting, assist on maintaining account receivables and payables, and general monitoring of all actual expenditure against budget within the Jordan office, involvement in firm wide projects, and efficiency drives. As this role is a member of the wider Al Tamimi finance team, from time to time, you may be assisting on accounting issues in other offices across the region.
Duties & responsibilities
- Assistance with annual audits and preparation of audit schedules.
- Preparation of VAT and employment tax returns as directed by Tax Accountant.
- Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations.
- Preparation of month end expenditure analysis.
- All bank reconciliations.
- Accounts payable.
- Petty cash.
- Billing.
- Assist the central Credit team with credit contro.
Eligibility criteria
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- Qualified Accountant.
- Minimum of 4 years in a similar role.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Excellent excel skills.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Law firm experience preferred but not essential.
