Internews is seeking a Human Resources Manager for the USAID-funded media support and civil society initiative with the general goal of further strengthening independent media and civil society in Jordan. You will oversee all recruitment and HR functions in the Amman office and ensure local HR policies and practices are in line with local labor laws, Internews policies, and industry standards. Internews has field offices in Jordan but, this role will be based in Amman, Jordan.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Establish/maintain local HR policies and procedures, including an employee handbook.
- Oversee all recruitment in the Amman office, including working with local advertising agencies and ensuring fair and equitable hiring practices are in place and followed.
- Maintain confidential local personnel records.
- Manage employee health benefits plans with a local providers.
- Work closely with local legal counsel to ensure compliance with local labor law requirements.
- Ensure all newly hired staff are onboarded accordingly and fully understand all HR policies and best practices.
- Manage annual performance appraisal process.
- Monitor and track leave and holiday allowances.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration or equivalent.
- From 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources.
- Practical knowledge of funders' rules and regulations as they relate to human resources management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Jordan labor law.
- Experience with USAID-funded projects is a plus.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Must be highly computer literate- Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Fluency in English and good command of Arabic.
- The right to work and live in Jordan.
