Job Opportunity in the US: Compliance Engineer at Walt Disney

Walt Disney is looking for a talented Compliance Engineer to join the team and work in California, United States.

1. Support data quality roadmaps, strategy and procedures for adhering to facilitate data lifecycle management and data stewardship best practices.
2. Understanding of Data Management Principles and Data Quality Improvement.
3. Participate in discussions on behalf of the governance team with business and data stakeholders globally to ensure the clarity, consistency, understanding and adoption of standard definitions for business metrics and KPI’s.
4. Assist in compliance audits for key issues related to PII, CCPA, legal guidance, launch preparedness and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Identifying and inventorying issues, suggested improvements, and aid in tracking and implementing fixes.
5. Serve as a liaison with data stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment, communication and understanding of new and evolving definitions for business metrics and KPI’s as they are required.
6. Draft and driving data lifecycle management procedures, policies and measurement.
7. Document and implement data policies, standards, and procedures for new data environments.
8. Develop and maintain definitions and other data quality documentation for data governance team.
9. Develop and deliver data quality training across the organization including the implementation of quality oriented controls and frameworks.

1. Bachelor's degree required in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred.
2. 2-3 years relevant experience in defining and implementing data governance and quality best practices, documenting data flow & process mapping, or a data steward responsible for the metadata management, data quality KPIs, etc.
3. Experience working with a metadata cataloging, categorizing and lineage platform.
4. Experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
6. Strong experience in documenting data requirements, data strategy and data rules (standardization, cleanse, and validation).
7. Strong analytical and technical skills to troubleshoot issues, analyze the cause, quickly come-up with the possible solution(s), document the changes, and communicate to the change to the organization.
8. Ability to evaluate risks and provide recommendations / solutions in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Minimum two years of experience in the technology industry, knowledge of data and product a plus.
2. 2+ years of Python, Spark and SQL.
3. High familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow.
