Job Opportunity in UAE as a Technical Translator at Petrofac

Petrofac offers a job opportunity in UAE as a Technical Translator.

You will be responsible for:

1. Provide conversation and written language translation services between English and the target language in accordance with the protocol and instructions regarding the nature and accuracy of the translation.
2. Receive as input technical documents from various disciplines. Read and rewrite documents in specified language following established rules pertaining to factors like word meanings, sentence structuring, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.
3. Render oral translations of the material at the time of being spoken. Express either approximate or exact translations depending on the nature of the occasion. Serve as an interpreter at seminars, meetings, and teleconferences and provide consecutive translations between the languages.
4. Provide staff and subcontractors with corrections or suggestions for changes in the document.
5. Regularly consult colleagues, specialized dictionaries, and glossaries for keeping up-to-date on relevant issues pertaining to the type of work.
6. Transfer the documents for clients' review and signatory approvals.
7. Perform general administration duties such as sorting and distributing incoming documents for translations.
8. Professionally translate all documents in adherence to the guidelines.
9. Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties.

• Foreign language translation skills and fluency in the relevant foreign language.
• Proficient in MS Office processing packages and familiarity with the Microstation program.

Minimum Requirement:

• Bachelor's Degree in Languages or professional qualification from a School of translation with 3-5 years of relevant experience in translation.
