Opportunity description
Accor Hotels is offering a job opportunity as a Chef de Partie to join the team in Doha, Qatar.
Duties & responsibilities
- To assume responsibility for the assigned culinary section and any other special task assigned from time to time by the Sous Chef and Junior Sous Chef.
- To be responsible for preparing, portioning, monitoring temperature, and garnishing foods to ensure that methods of cooking and garnishing and sizes of portions are as prescribed.
- To receive and examine foodstuff supplies required for the menu in order to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.
- To ensure that preparation is carried out to the correct specifications and recipes in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction and Food quality standards.
- To ensure proper use of materials in a continuous effort to keep wastage to a minimum.
- To perform all the tasks mentioned on the Master Task List together with any additional duty assigned from time to time by the Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
- To control any product overconsumption to monitor spoilage and wastage to maximize profit.
- To observe the food being cooked by tasting and smelling to determine the condition.
- To ensure that all perishable foods are stored under refrigerated conditions and proper materials are being used to cook to follow food safety guidelines.
- To measure and mix ingredients according to recipes to prepare a main dish, soups, salads, and hot & cold food desserts.
- To marinate and carve meats, portions food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish servings to fill orders.
- To butcher chickens, fish, and shellfish.
- To cut, trim, and bone meat prior to cooking.
- To ensure that preparation is carried out to the correct specifications and recipes in a timely manner.
- To assist with exclusive use events when needed and assist in the preparations of facilities for functions, themed evenings, etc., to contribute to the success of the Company.
- To ensure all departmental checklists i.e., opening and closing checklists, are completed, any required follow-up action is initiated, and forms/records are filed appropriately.
- To manage food and beverage inventory, ordering, and stocking.
- To schedule, break, and, if required, rotate Colleagues relatively to increase productivity and maintain their wellbeing.
Eligibility criteria
- Higher Secondary or equivalent.
- professional kitchen apprenticeship or chefs training course and previous experiences in quality establishments along with good culinary skills.
- 1-2 years’ experience in the same role or 2years’ experience as Demi Chef in a similar field.
