Opportunity description

The Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) is offering a full-time job opportunity as an Internal Audit Specialist to join the team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, as he/she will be responsible for leading internal auditors, organizing internal audits, undertaking complex audits and proposing actions specific to sections or departments and more general systemic improvements.

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the provision of internal auditing services to a specialist or technical area such as IT/IS.
  2. Defines, develops and delivers operational plans for own area of responsibility which will be driven by overall internal audit plans.
  3. Drafts audit reports which will be sent to senior management and Audit Committee.
  4. Suggests improved processes and systems in areas being audited.
  5. Leads the development of staff in his teams to ensure that audit service standards and capability are continually improved.
  6. Recommend particular actions for internal auditors, and line management, which draw upon specialist or technical-area-based conclusions where appropriate.
  7. Works within established policies and procedures. Provides input into the development of policies and procedures.
  8. Manages a number of teams of internal auditors, in geographic or technical areas.
  9. Plans detailed scope of each audit and prepares the audit programs.
  10. Schedules work plan for teams. Inputs into formulation of internal audit budget.
  11. Develop staff and transfer knowledge.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or IT related subject.
  2. Completed relevant reputable finance or auditing professional qualification.
  3. 5 to 7 years of experience in internal auditing role with at least 2 years in senior auditor or supervisory positions.
  4. Strong experience in IT audit.
  5. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  6. High skills in report writing and presentation.

  2. Sound independent judgement.
  3. Very good Communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Must be able to work independently as well as in teams.
  5. High Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Independent, self-driven and proactive attitude.
