Opportunity description

Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts is looking for a Sales Agent to join the team and work in Kuwait. 

Duties & responsibilities

  1. To use courteous and efficient telephone etiquette while obtaining all information necessary to process the guest's order.
  2. To record covers, handle special orders, check for out of stock items, obtain the specials for the day.
  3. To operate the computer system for order taking, check printing, closing out checks and printing reports.
  4. To maintain in-depth knowledge all menus (including Daily Specials, cocktail list, etc.) and of the service of food and beverage items offered by the department and the hotel.
  5. To up-sell to guests as well as confirm their order before thanking them.
  6. To record all guest charges, gratuities and cash transactions accurately.
  7. To coordinate between the waiter and kitchen for smooth, service.
  8. To assure that all amenity requests are received, filed, ordered from kitchen and delivered in a prompt and accurate fashion.
  9. To assume responsibility for a house float and follow all operating procedures regarding the float.
  10. To check all orders before they leave In-Room Dining if no manager is present.
  11. To control the cleanliness in the In-Room Dining area.
  12. To inform the Manager of all customer complaints and makes appropriate efforts to correct the problem.
  13. The ability to maintain a In-Room Dining control sheet so the Manager knows when an order was taken, delivered and retrieved and by whom.
  14. To assist the servers with setting up orders.
  15. To respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  16. To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff. 

Eligibility criteria

  1. High School Diploma.
  2. Minimum 2 years experience in similar position in a 5 star hotel.
  3. Experience working in the Middle East.
  4. Demonstrated experience working in a high volume, high pressure environment.
  5. Experience working in the hospitality or other customer service related industry.
  6. Administrative skills, able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  7. Strong verbal and written Arabic and English language skills.
