Microsoft offers a full-time job opportunity as a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the team in Washington, United States in 2021. The Manufacturing Test Engineering group is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting advanced automated test solutions for the entire Microsoft Devices portfolio - including Xbox, HoloLens, Surface and Foldable product lines.  

You will work with a team of engineers to build integrated solutions including software and hardware that will be deployed to manufacturing labs and facilities. Along with providing solutions for specific product lines like Surface, Xbox, and HoloLens, you will participate in defining and building the next platform that will be leveraged by all hardware products. You will develop the software, owning the entire lifecycle from design and specification through implementation to verification and release using Agile methodologies. Your responsibilities include:

1. Strong background in software/hardware or systems engineering on a wide variety of products.
2. Excellent technical and analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication.
3. Ability to influence and produce excellent technical designs, experience leading highly capable teams and demonstrating a proven track record of shipping software. • Knowledge of software/hardware development and quality assurance.
4. Knowledge of medium to high volume consumer product manufacturing, hardware production lifecycles, and new hardware product launch processes are strongly desired.
5. Articulate and weigh trade-offs in software architecture and design based on multiple competing requirements including cost, schedule, technical necessity.

1. B.S. degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
2. 7+ years of software development experience with C++, C# or similar programing language 
3. Experience with .NET platform and Cloud Services are a plus.
4. Proven ability to execute in all phases of the software development life cycle, resulting in high-quality software, delivered on time.
5. Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, seeking out areas that need attention.
6. Outstanding technical problem-solving skills and a passion to solve hard problems. • Exceptional communication skills which includes clear written and verbal communication as well as the ability to collaboratively identify requirements. 
7. Knowledge of medium to high volume consumer product manufacturing, hardware production lifecycles, and new hardware product launch processes are strongly desired.
8. Ability to work within large cross functional groups to reach common understanding or agreement related to measurement and test systems.
9. Strong customer focus, action/ results oriented, detailed planning and organizing, self-managed, flexible, thrive on change, change agent, able to achieve success in a dynamic environment, and a passion for technology.
10. Some domestic and international travel is required.
