Walt Disney offers an internship opportunity as a content development intern at KABC-TV (ABC7). This is your chance to get a paid Disney Professional Internship. The program is designed to provide you with an on-site educational experience that complements your academic studies. You will have an opportunity to observe and participate in the daily work and operations of a major market television station. You will have the opportunity to participate in the production of ABC7 special event shows including “On the Red Carpet” and “Localish LA.”
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Like/Comment other posts as OTRC on FB, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Learn CMS to post content online for Content Team Preditors.
- Learn LASSEE platform.
- Edit OTRC social videos with review by supervisors.
- As the Content Development Production intern, you may:
- Work with the show producers in researching stories, and setting up interviews.
- Assist in the post-production process.
- Log and transcribe interviews.
- Assist with general office tasks.
- Be part of the social media engagement strategy for the various programs, including writing for the web.
Eligibility criteria
- You must have:
- Previous internship experience in production.
- Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with an editing program such as AVID, and/or Final Cut Pro.
- Major or previous coursework in Film & Television, Communications, or related major.
- You must be:
- Enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program.
- OR graduated from a college/university within 18 months.
- OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Possessed unrestricted work authorization.
- You are preferred to have:
- Courses in producing/writing/editing.
- Thorough experience using social media.
- Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism; television, news; and/or television news script writing.
Program Dates:
- All candidates must be available from September 2021 through early January 2022.
- All candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week during a Monday through Sunday schedule.
