Internship Opportunity for Young People in Jordan in the Arts of Debate in Cooperation with the French Embassy

Leaders of Tomorrow Foundation, implemented by "Diwaniya" and with the support of the French Embassy in Jordan, is organizing a free training course in the arts of debate in Amman. This training course aims to build the capacities of young people and enable them to be successful debaters on various topics of interest to them and their communities. A debate will be held for the participants at the end of the training course to apply the skills and experiences provided to them during the course. This training will be held with a limited capacity in the period between mid-May and early June 2023, with 4 training days and a closing debate day. Since its inception in 2012, the Diwaniyah initiative has sought to create a critical society capable of dialogue and respect for others, by establishing free spaces for debate in which all segments and backgrounds of society participate, so that political, economic, and social dialogues and discussions move from political elite salons and hotels to public places for the participation of all citizens. .

All of the following topics will be covered during this training:

• Definition of debate.
• The importance of the debate.
• The most important qualities of a successful debater.
• The most important skills of a successful debater.
• Debate forms.
• Arguing
• Refutation
• Persuasion
• Fallacies
• Verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Research and preparation for the debate.
• Speech rules
• Practical application (debate between the participants).
