UN Talent is offering internship opportunity in Amman, Jordan. The purpose of this internship is to find a creative, innovative, motivated social media intern for three months, extendable, starting June 2022 to launch UN Jordan new TikTok account. The qualified candidate will support UN Jordan efforts to engage children and youth of Jordan in meaningful conversations. This position is located in the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Jordan, and reports to the Communications and Advocacy Officer.
Duties & responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare UN Jordan TikTok profile’s strategy and launch plan.
- Support creating bi-weekly content calendars.
- Independently develop creative and fun video concepts, as well as compile content from the UN agencies in Jordan and edit videos suited for the TikTok platform and targeted audiences.
- Promote UN’s brand awareness and advocacy priorities and programs on TikTok.
- Map TikTok influencers in the country and identify opportunities to partner with them in 2022 to promote UN campaigns.
- Prepare bi-weekly analytics and content reports capturing local trends, feedback from followers, opportunities and challenges related to youth in Jordan.
- Maintain a repository of all TikTok-related multimedia (audiovisual and graphics).
- Lead day to day monitoring and management of UNJordan’s TikTok account, including posting content, monitoring content performance.
- Adapting TikTok trends in an innovative way to create fun and creative videos that are on trend, but still adhere to UN key messages.
Eligibility criteria
- Education To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
- Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation;
- Applicants must: (a) be computer literate in standard software applications; (b) have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter; and (c) have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- Work Experience No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
- Knowledge of which content performs well on TikTok and what does not is desirable.
- Knowledge of content creation for TikTok is desirable.
- Knowledge of editing videos for web and social media is desirable.
- Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in English is required; and fluency in Arabic is required.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
