Opportunity description
Disney is offering Communications internship, WDW Public Affairs, Summer/Fall 2022, in Orlando, FL, United States.
Duties & responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of communication strategies that protect and enhance the reputation of Disney in Central Florida and beyond.
- Write articles and produce content for external and internal communications vehicles, including the company intranet site, press releases, blog posts, social media posts and more.
- Develop and design clever and strategic visuals across a variety of mediums, including infographics, executive presentations, short-form videos, digital slides and more.
- Help facilitate photo and video shoots in support of content creation efforts.
- Help facilitate media shoots with reporters covering stories at Walt Disney World Resort.
- Assist in media monitoring and analysis to help provide strategic communication recommendations to Public Affairs executives.
Eligibility criteria
- Currently pursuing, or have recently completed, a bachelor’s degree, in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media or related field.
- Strong administrative skills
- Well versed in grammar and punctuation
- Writing and presentation skills
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities while maintaining professional poise
- Proven ability to work well independently or in a group, is a self-starter
- Proficiency in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Mac/MS Office environment
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications
- Demonstrated passion and commitment to diversity and inclusion including inviting diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive work environment and supporting workforce diversity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Disney operational knowledge/experience
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Additional Information:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
- Must provide own transportation to/from work
