Opportunity description

Walt Disney offers a paid internship as an intern at the WDI Show Control Systems. It will last from May/June 2022 through August/September 2022 and you must be fully available for the duration of the internship. Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company. Its talented corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation - from concept initiation through installation - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects. This is your opportunity to work side-by-side with industry leaders in your field of study as well as building upon your skills.

Duties & responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Prepare, under supervision, basic engineering design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide general engineering support to Lead Engineers.

Eligibility criteria

You must have:

  • Experience with Autodesk BIM 360/Navisworks.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with control hardware system designs.
  • Familiarity with PLCs.
  • Familiarity with general electronic circuits.
  • Interest in working in a “test and adjust” construction environment.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office products.
  • Ability to work as a member of a technical team.
  • Ability to use a multimeter and oscilloscope.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Engineering, studying Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering, or related.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester(spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months OR currently participating in Disney Professional Internship.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Provide own housing and transportation to/from work.

You are preferred to have in: 

  • Familiarity with Wireshark.
  • AutoCad and/or SolidWorks experience.
  • Experience with motors and motor control.
  • Experience in a professional engineering environment.
  • Successful completion of fundamental Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering courses.
