‘Designers in Residence’ Program for Designers at EMMA Creative Center in Germany

About the residency:

The town of Pforzheim invites young international designers to apply for a scholarship to be a part of its program “Designers in Residence” in Germany. Scholarship holders will be invited to the EMMA Creative Center Pforzheim for a three-month working phase. The results of the residency will be presented in an exhibition at the EMMA Creative Center in Pforzheim and in cooperation with the Design Center Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart. Scholarship holders will stay in Pforzheim from April 1^st until June 30^th, 2019.

Conditions:

The scholarship program is designed for young international designers in the areas of jewelry, fashion, accessory, and industrial design. Applicants must have completed studies at a university of applied sciences or university, be no older than 35 years, and have completed their studies no longer than two years ago. Also, participants must have sufficient language skills in English or German. The scholarship holder may only be absent for a maximum of ten days during the three month period.

Benefits and Financial aid:

The successful applicants will receive a scholarship that consists of various financial and non-financial benefits. The scholarship includes:

[1] Use of a fully equipped workshop and co-working workplaces in the EMMA Creative Center in Pforzheim.

[2] Free accommodation for the period of three months. 

[3] The possibility to use the workshop facilities of the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences.

[4] Each scholarship holder will receive a monthly support of 1,000 euros.

[5] A coverage of travel costs for the journey from and back to home country. 

[6] A special allowance will be made available for material costs.
