Welcome to the prestigious 13th Kochi International Triennial Exhibition of Prints, hosted by the esteemed Ino-cho Paper Museum in Ino, Kochi, Japan. Known for its high-quality Tosa Washi, a celebrated handcrafted artisanal paper, this exhibition aims to spread this cultural heritage globally. We invite artists worldwide to participate and explore printmaking with paper as a canvas, with a special emphasis on using Tosa Washi.
Program Details
- The competition is open to artists from all over the world.
- Eligible works include original 2D prints crafted after 2024.
- Generative AI-based works (images and text) are not eligible.
- The maximum paper size allowed is 100x100 cm (40x40 inches).
- Artists can submit up to three works.
- Works previously selected or awarded at public exhibitions are ineligible.
- Entry is free for those submitting from outside Japan.

- First Prize: ¥1,000,000
- Second Prize: ¥500,000
- The Museum of Art, Kochi Prize: ¥300,000
- Takao Hiwasaki Prize: ¥300,000
- Tosa Washi Prize: ¥200,000 plus ¥100,000 worth of Tosa Washi paper

Eligibility criteria
- Artworks must be produced after 2024.
- Paper size should not exceed 100x100 cm.
- No use of generative AI technologies.
- Works must not have been previously exhibited or awarded in other showcases.
