Opportunity description

Bow Seat announces its Climate Change Contest to raise awareness of ocean problems by creatively expressing your personal experiences, vision or perceptions about the changing climate reality.

Benefits

  1. The winner of Gold prize will receive 1000$.
  2. The winner of silver prize will receive 750$.
  3. The winner of bronze prize will receive 500$.
  4. The winner of pearl prize will receive 250$.
  5. The winner of honorable mention will receive 100$.

Eligibility criteria

  • This contest is aimed at students ages 11-18 who are enrolled in middle or high school (or homeschooling equivalent) around the world.
  • Undergraduate students cannot apply for this competition.
  • Students between the ages of 11 and 14 can participate in the Junior Division.
  • Students between the ages of 15 and 18 can enter the first section of the competition.
  • For participants under the age of 13, a parent or legal guardian must complete the COPPA Parent/Guardian Consent Form during submission.
  • Entries can be submitted individually or as a team.
  • There is must be one team leader who will act as the contact person if participating as a team.
  • All team member names must be included on the application.
  • All team members must meet entry requirements for participant age (11-18 years).
  • The prize money will be divided equally among the team members.
  • A student may submit only one entry for each competition category.
  • All entries must be original work by participating students.
  • The Contest considers the use of AI software, such as ChatGPT or DALL-E to be plagiarism, so any participant submitting AI-generated work will be disqualified and their guardian will be notified.
  • Entries must be submitted in English or contain an English translation.
  • Videos can be submitted in any language provided they have English subtitles.
  • All jury decisions will be final and non-negotiable.
  • All winners and their sponsors will be notified via email before being publicly announced.
  • Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs reserves the right to use student work for marketing and promotional purposes in any and all various media.
  • There are no fees to participate in the competition.
