Opportunity description
The Moth Magazine is inviting people from all over the world to participate in the Moth Poetry Prize, one of the biggest prizes in the world for a single unpublished poem, which is open to anyone (over 16) as long as the poem is previously unpublished.
The prize is judged anonymously by a single poet and the judge only learns who the shortlisted poets are following the selection of the winning poems. The main prize is 10,000€ and the winners will be invited to a special prizegiving event at Poetry Ireland in Dublin in the spring of 2019.
Eligibility criteria:
[1] The name of the author must not appear on the same page as the poem.
[2] Applicant can write on any subject and there is no line limit.
[3] Entries must be in English, typed, with each entry on a new sheet.
[4] Entries will not be returned, so applicant should keep a copy.
[5] No corrections can be made after receipt, or fees refunded.
[6] Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published
online or broadcast.
[7] The Prize is open to anyone (over 16).
[8] Applicant can enter as many poems as he/she likes (at a cost of €12 per poem).
