GIRAF is looking for independent and artful animated films to share with their audience for the 15th annual Giant Incandescent Resonating in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. That's intentionally pretty general: it can mean abstract or narrative, hand-drawn or computer-generated, student films or well-established professionals, or anywhere in between. They mainly focus on presenting independent animations that push boundaries through new techniques, unique visions, and stimulating subject matter. More details can be found online, via this link.

Requirements
- Animation submissions can be in all styles, genres, lengths, and mediums.
- Commercial submissions are not eligible to participate.
- Since the festival is aimed at an adult audience, films that are explicitly aimed at children might not be selected.
- Music videos are admittedly a bit of a grey area.

GIRAF, or the Giant Incandescent Resonating Animation Festival, is an annual animation festival that runs each November in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. GIRAF celebrates the spirit of independent, underground, and experimental animation, showcasing Canadian animators and presenting diverse animations from around the globe. GIRAF presents interactive activities including workshops, artist talks, visiting artists, and animation screenings. GIRAF’s parent organization is Quickdraw Animation Society, a non-profit, artist-run center in Calgary Alberta.
