Dar5otot publishing house in Jordan has launched a short story competition, as it’s honoring Elias Farkouh, a late renowned Jordanian Novelist, and giving recognition to his literary works that affected Jourdan and Arab cultural landscape. So that this edition around of competition will be held under his name.

Eligibility criteria
Participation Terms and Rules:
- Writers must be at least 18 years old.
- ONLY stories written in standard Arabic will be accepted. As novels translated from other languages or adapted from classic novels will not be accepted.
- The volume of eligible collections should not be less than 10.000 words, and does not exceed 20.000 words.
- Entries are received only via website, and submissions sent via otherwise ways will not be considered.
- Novels that received previous awards, or have been published in books are not accepted.
- Authors commit to refrain from publishing their submitted short story collections until the first edition is published by Dar5otot.
- Only unpublished collections will be accepted.
- Publishing first edition of winning collections is exclusive to Dar5otot.
- Each author can submit one collection, and can’t participate in two different categories of competition.
- Handwritten collections will not eligible, and files sent to Dar5otot will not returned to participants.
- The Board of Trustees has the right, in the event that a participant violated these conditions at any stage of the competition - even after announcing winners - to withhold the award and take the necessary legal measures.
- Receiving entries via dar5otot website starts on 3/15/2021 and closes on 5/30/2021.
