EPSON has launched contest targeting institutions that are interested in robotics and technology. The contest encourages the development of an innovative application using up to three T series robots &ndash; with successful applicants winning up to three Epson robots for their institution.<h2>About the Prize</h2><ul><li>Participants will have the opportunity to win up to three Epson T series robots to support the implementation of the winning application.</li><li>Epson reserves the right to amend the type of robot to be awarded.&nbsp;</li><li>All robots won through the competition will remain the property of the participating institutions that submitted the application once the competition is finalized, with the intention of it becoming a teaching or research tool within the university or institution.</li><li>The prize is not to be used for-profit following the finalization of the project for which it was won.</li><li>The prize is not for military usage.&nbsp;</li><li>The Prize is non-transferable and there is no cash or credit alternative in whole or in part.</li></ul><h2>Eligibility</h2><ol><li>The competition is only open to Universities, Tertiary education facilities and research institutes (hereafter known as participating institutions) in the EMEA region.</li><li>Applications must be made in the name of the University, Tertiary education facility, or Research Institution and not individuals.&nbsp;</li><li>Participating institutions can enter multiple applications, however, a maximum of one winning project per institution will be selected.&nbsp;</li><li>All applications must be submitted by midnight on the December 15th, 2018. The winners and runners-up will be announced by email and online (website, social media, press release) on January 15th, &nbsp;2019.&nbsp;</li><li>The winners and runners-up will be decided by a panel of judges, based on criteria including: a. Innovation: Is the application using the robot in a new and innovative manner or to achieve a new or innovative end goal? b. Education: Does the application present a learning opportunity that would otherwise be inaccessible without the robot? c. Skills development: Does the application support skills development in the field of automation? d. Unique robot usage: Does the application use the robot in a new way or to automate tasks other than those seen by the majority or market applications? e. Sustainability: Does the application use automation to reduce waste or energy consumption? Has the sustainability of the project or end goal been addressed in the application?&nbsp;</li><li>People employed by Epson, and its subsidiaries, or by Epson official partners (including distributors, integrators and suppliers) cannot enter the competition.&nbsp;</li><li>Epson will publish the name of the winner in PR, marketing, and social media. By entering the competition you agree to this.</li><li>Installation by an authorized Epson integrator or distribution partner is not required, however, &lsquo;additional costs associated with the robot and the automation process must be covered by the winners themselves&rsquo;&nbsp;</li><li>Epson commits to covering any taxes, freight, and first training (one training, in situ or in Epson offices, location, participants and duration to be determined following the attribution of the winners) associated with the robot and the planning hereof.</li></ol>
